Happy December

Hey friends.
You know me,
so you know one of the things I'd love
about being in a new house, would be to see how
it looked all dressed up for Christmas.
It's fun to see how all our old decorations look in a new space.
I added two things this year.
The first is this huge canvas I had Doug design for me:
love. love. love. love. love.
how it turned out
We made it personal by adding our established date:
 'this house believing since 1993.'
Twenty-five years.
Hard to believe.
Wait, I just said ‘we believe’.
Moving on...
The wreaths that we had outside on every window at our last house,
came inside.
The Christmas item I get asked most about.
NOEL
Bought it for $10 at Costco yeeears ago.
It was sparkly and gold, I painted it white.

Thankful

Just a quick simple post today to express my gratitude.
I love this little sign.
I made it in about 10 minutes at a church activity.
But it is one of my favorite fall/Thanksgiving decorations.
I love its simplicity.
This banner was $3.
I love what it does to this room.
Funny how life is full of little simple things that bring joy to
the day to day. We just have to see them.
Life is not perfect. We are all fighting battles.
Some obvious. Others not.

Our New Home

Where to start...
We moved.
Again.

From this:
To this:
Why???
You ask.
You might enjoy this post that recapped our last move.
***
In that post I said the struggles of a major cross-country move were not over.
In many ways they were just beginning.
As it turned out, they were more than just struggles.
As time went on, it became clear that the differences between the life we had left behind in Seattle and the life we were trying to carve out in South Carolina were just too different.
Some things that were very important to us, were not available to us in our new surroundings.
After lots of consideration...and prayer...to understand God's will for us...

Master Bath Reveal

I could NOT believe it when I realized
it has been nearly one year exactly
since I have posted. For a couple of reasons.
One: it seems like forever
and at the same time just yesterday
since we moved to South Carolina.
Second: I realized I never blogged about the last room we redid,
Our master bath.
First: the before pics:
It really is a spacious bathroom--lots of wall space for lots of--wallpaper.
It took us many tools and many hours to get that tub out that was secured remarkably well.
Lots of brass--which I realize is coming back--but I had enough of it in the 80's.
And now:
The new master bath--complete with my favorite item in the entire house.
A free standing tub.
A gray and white theme with pops of color--
reminders of my trip to Paris with my daughter.

Did not redo the shower--the brass is still there if I ever change my mind (a hard no).
Just covered up for the time being.
So grateful to have the huge projects done.
Kuddos to Doug for all his work, for this project he even had to do some plumbing!
It's been nice to enjoy the house without something ripped up this past year.
Not sure what to do with myself  without a project--maybe I'll take a bath;)
