Railroad Avenue

Remember that day last summer, when you decided to drive down a dark alley with no lights, on a hot night and dig through a pile of wood left from an old fence?
Your sister's in-laws decided to tear down a fence and she told you anyone was welcome to the wood but as you dug in the dark you were a little nervous about the dog barking ferociously in the next yard over and wondered how many spiders where in the pile that you couldn't see because it was so dark? And you really, really hoped that this was indeed her in-laws back alley?

You almost jumped back in the car a dozen times, but decided 'just one more board,' after all this could be great for 'something'. And then the pile of wood sat in the garage for quite a while and your husband gave you that look when he cleaned out the garage, and again when he cleaned out the garage again...remember?
And one day, out of no where at all you decided you wanted to make a a sign for your bathroom that you painted white months ago and have really not done anything with ever since...
And for some reason you really love the look of old signs that have anything to do with railroads...but you haven't seen one laying on the side of the road to pick up lately so you decided you would make one?
And it was fun and only took about 10 minutes from start to finish and you wondered...
'why didn't I do that a long time ago'?
And now you don't get that look from your husband when he cleans out the garage...
Well, except there might be some other 'stuff' you have piled in the garage...that will be something someday, just as soon as you have another one of those days when you decide to do something amazing.
Remember that day?
I thought so, I remember that day too.
